Art, they say, is perception. Art, while swirling your favourite glass of wine and letting a sip dance on your tongue has to be one of the most beautiful things ever.
On Friday the 29th of January, Vino Imperium, a winery in Port-Harcourt, Nigeria brought together wine and art lovers and the result was exquisite.
The art exhibit comprised a variety of artistry, every piece distinct in its own way, ranging from tapestry to abstract art to water colour art to fine art etc.
One of my favourite parts of the evening was watching one of the artists paint live. I was particularly enthralled by the swift but purposeful strokes of the brush and the concentration on the artist’s face. Witnessing that level of mastery changes a person. It was like watching the artist’s hands and the acrylic board do a slow dance.
The location itself, Vino Imperium was all sorts of elegant. The ambience was divine; the service, exceptional and the free wine was easily my best part. Who knew there were so many different kinds of wine, bye bye to cheap bottles because I have tasted better and I’m never going back.
PS: Organic wine is trash; I would not recommend.
I had a splendid time and from my interactions with other guests, so did they.
The experience was wonderful and I would definitely do it again. I wish the organizers had provided more information about the art on display; asides from that, it was a great experience.
Here are some pictures from the event.
